76 years ago today, the people of Warsaw began the largest underground resistance operation of World War Two against Nazi German occupation. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, the Armia Krajowa fought for 63 days with little outside support.
Every year at 5pm Warsaw time, Warsaw comes to a complete stop to commemorate the bravery of the many thousands of young soldiers and civilians who laid down their lives in the fight to liberate Warsaw from a five-year long brutal occupation.
Cześć i chwała bohaterom!
